spring tides of the Venice lagoon our new series brings you the sights
and sounds of some of the worlds most remarkable train journeys.
We’ll be travelling overnight in Bogardesque style from Paris
through the cool Pyrenees mountains to the heat of Madrid, heading East
out of Venice for a candlelit dinner en route to the mysterious old
city of Budapest, spiralling up the steep corkscrew track from the
north Indian plains to the tea capital of the World – Darjeeling,
nestling in the foothills of Mount Everest and heading out across the
Australian outback on the worlds most recently built railway linking
Darwin to Alice Springs. Take an unhurried look at six more routes that
combine 21st century luxury with centuries of revealing History. Filmed
using the latest Hi-definition cameras and technology this is a
close as you can get to being there!
